Corality has been invited to present at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) conference. We will be sharing our thoughts on the importance of Business Analytics and how to utilise it to strengthen your competitive advantage including data cleansing, analytical review of information and forecasting methodologies.
Rickard Warnelid (Managing Director) and Dr Liam Bastick (Director of the Melbourne office) will be co-presenting on this essential topic. Catch them at the ICAA accounting conference held in 5 locations from 7 March 2011.
Why is analytics so important in business?
During their presentation, Rickard and Liam will illustrate the importance of business analytics and discuss how analytics-driven organisations can shape their own business outcomes and deliver strong economic performance as a result. The benefit for finance executives is clear: good data brings discipline to business unit planning and performance management and offers finance teams the insight needed to make informed decisions.
By understanding the strategic implications of different data sets, finance teams and key decision makers gain the ability to change course in volatile circumstances and achieve competitive advantage.
Topics covered
Liam and Rickard will discuss four key aspects of business analytics, namely:
- Data cleansing: Ensuring data accuracy, completeness and consistency
- Converting data into information: Processing data to obtain information
- Analytical review: Analysis with ratios, scenarios and identifying key drivers
- Applying forecasting methodologies: Regression analysis, rolling forecasts and moving averages
The presentation will cover the data analysis process, involving the conversion of raw data into information and, ultimately, business insight.
The ICAA conference is scheduled for the following cities and dates:
- Sydney: 7 March
- Melbourne: 17 March
- Adelaide: 28 March
- Brisbane: 9 May
